Microsoft Composite Battery Device Manager
Microsoft composite battery missing W 10 Device Manager. Battery shows not charging. Tried every suggestion I could find. Delete every thing in Device Mgr under battery then restart with battery in & out. To un-install the default drivers, press Windows + R together to to open the RUN prompt. Type “devmgmt.msc” and press enter. This will open device manager. On Device Manager, browser to Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, right click on it and click “Uninstall”.
Design capacity of Warning Indicates an OEM-provided low battery warning level. Windows ignores this value. Design capacity of Low Indicates the critical battery level at which Windows must immediately shut down or hibernate before the system powers off. Must be set to a value between 0 and 5 percent of the battery design capacity.
On a PC, you should not even see any 'low battery alarms' options in power management if no battery exists. Not saying it cannot happen but I have never seen it on a PC when a UPS was not connected. That said, if a USP at one time was connected and 3rd party UPS monitoring software was installed and still running, then I can see this might happen.
They add hundreds of new drivers to our site every day. Having trouble finding the right driver? Try the, or you can and we will find it for you.
Muramatsu serial number list. The second problem is that a message appears that reads- ” There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly.” I can replace the battery but it will take a lot of time as it is very expensive so in the mean time can i still use the laptop with the charger plugged or will it harm the laptop? Need your help. Hey there Guys and Gals, I have been having the worst time trying to figure out what the hell was going on with this. I have a Compaq CQ62 and was having issues with my AC Adaptor dropping off and not running or charging my battery. Here is what I needed to do to fix it. I found that I had unintentionally installed “AMD External Events Utility” You need to remove this but it is not easy.
1:20 PM Here is a Smart UPS SUA1000RMI2U which is connected with a USB cable to our server (Windows Server 2003 SBS SP2). I just installed 'PowerChute Business Edition 5 Node v9.0.1' on this server (and installed the agent, the server and the console). However, PowerChute cannot detect my UPS. The USB connection seems to work, because Windows detects a 'APC Battery BackUP' in device manager. I also tried using other USB ports, but without success. If I open the PowerChute Console, it asks me to add a device - then I get into the Device List Configuration. But Discovered Devices (and Current Device List) remains empty.
Thanks for your help. This solved my issue: I uninstalled 2nd driver as well '2 - Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery' and restarted my machine. Problem solved.
We recommend that this value be updated only when the battery reaches full charge. Battery technology Indicates if the battery is rechargeable or one-use. Must be set to 0x1 to indicate the battery is rechargeable. Design voltage Indicates the design voltage of the battery. Must be set to the design voltage of the battery when new in millivolts. Must not be set to 0x0 or 0xFFFFFFFF. This value must not change at runtime.

Expand the Batteries tree in Device Manager, then right click on and remove all battery related devices (Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery) by using the Uninstall option. Then after you’ve done that, right click again and select “Scan for Changes”, which should re-install the proper drivers and allow for your laptop to charge again. Method Three Unfortunately, there is no one definitive battery not charging solution and it’s not an exact science. If the above doesn’t work, there are many other slight variations to this method that might fix the problem. Here’s another one that is known to work. While both the AC cord and battery are installed and you are in Windows, disconnect the AC power leaving it on battery power.
Compbatt.sys is Windows generic 'composite' driver. There should be nothing in the Registry pointing to compbatt.sys - at least in my mind. I see nothing on my Toshiba notebook or two PCs to suggest compbatt.sys is, or has ever run. So I don't understand what generated the error or where it came from. That's why I said software for an attached - or previously attached UPS.
Battery capacity granularity 1 Indicates the minimum amount of remaining charge change that can be detected by the hardware between the Design Capacity of Warning and Design Capacity of Low. Must be set to a value no larger than 1 percent of the battery design capacity. Battery capacity granularity 2 Indicates the minimum amount of remaining charge change that can be detected by the hardware between Last Full Charge Capacity and Design Capacity of Warning. Must be set to a value no larger than 75 milliwatts (approximately 0.25 percent of a 25 watt-hour battery).
No, another system update happened after that:( I tried with 'scan for hardware changes' but still it's not coming up. What other options do I have? Is there any trusted site microsoft/Sony where I can install it from. I'm not able to find yet.

Must be between a value of 0x0 and 0xFFFFFFFF in millivolts. When any data in _BST changes, the platform must generate an interrupt and a Notify(0x80) on the battery device in the ACPI namespace. This must be performed immediately after the physical state change is detected by the platform.
Let's start with the simplest. I call it the Battery Reboot. Shut down the PC, unplug it, remove the battery, plug in the laptop, boot up, shut it down again, unplug it, insert the battery, plug it in, and reboot.
As the laptop could not boot using only the battery.Have to plug in the charger and boot the laptop but the same error persists. Battery #1 Charging 0% Available Batter #2: Not Present Please suggest any workaround. If not let me know so that I will return this HP laptop.
After successful running for almost 10 days without the issue, it has come back again today and am not sure updating the BIOS will solve the issue. God only knows what the main problem is. When it works fine, the battery runs beautifully for at least 2.5 hours for 80% and almost 3 hours for 90% battery life. Any suggestions? I bought a Toshiba Satellite L305D a couple of years ago as sort of a backup computer which hardly gets used. It originally came with Vista and soon afterward Win7 came out and I did a clean install.
I have disabled the 'Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery' in the Batteries section of the Device Manager on my Windows 7 computer. I have done this in order to lower the latency as am working on audio production. I have lost the Batterly level indicator icon but I don't care. Hardware & Devices i have a sony vaio vpceb 190x with a windows 7 ultimate.after instaling VAIO control centar i get a message that the battery is not compatible, press ok to hibernate. If i disable the acpi control method in device menager i dont get the error mesage but the computer does not have control over. General Discussion When I check my device manager, Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery is missing, thus the battery bar on the bottom is also gone, and the box for enabling the battery bar is greyed out.
What else can I do? Message was edited by: bachmann. 6/10/2013 2:00 PM (in response to bachmann) I had this issue too. I have one UPS (SmartUPS 3000), which is connected to a single server and to some other network devices. Although I didn't really need PowerChute Server, I decided to give it a try in case of expansion of the network structure. It's not very clear that you need to have SAME username and password both on PowerChute Agent and PowerChute Server. After I've changed the password in the console for PowerChute Server, everything started to work as expected.
